3 Quick Motivational Tips From A Hobo
Everybody needs some motivational tips from time to time.
Whether it’s the end of a long work week, or you’ve just been feeling a bit more tired than usual, it’s vital that we take a bit of time each day to look ourselves in the mirror, pat ourselves on the back, and tell ourselves that we’re doing a good job.
So keep reading and we’ll go over a few quick motivational tips for anyone out there who might need a bit of a morale boost today.
Motivational Tips #1 – Act Like It
My good pal Billy Shakespeare once said, “Assume a virtue, if you have it not.”, which I think is a crucial step in finding the motivation and ambition we need to make the most out of each and every day.
In today’s modern English, I think this quote would best be summed up as “fake it until you make it.”
And while I’m certainly not advocating that everybody starts acting fake, I think we could all benefit from assuming the virtues that we wish we had.
And the longer we hold on to these virtues that we assume, the more likely they’ll eventually be to take shape as part of our everyday lives.
Motivational Tip #2 – Set Goals
Daily, weekly, monthly, yearly…
Give yourself goals, and work, every single day, towards making those goals happen, no matter how big or small they might be.
However, short term goals are much more difficult to live up to.
That’s why I think it’s more important to have much larger, long-term goals, which, in turn, will give rise to many smaller, short-term goals that you’ll need to accomplish in order to get there.
Either way, the important thing is to give yourself goals. You might not always get them accomplished, either on time or ever at all. But when you do accomplish your goals, you’ll quickly find a sense of achievement that we rarely find anywhere else in life.
Motivation Tips #3 – Leave The Comfort Zone Behind
Think of a little tiny baby bird, living safely under its mother wing, up high in its nest, away from predators and all the dangers that lie below.
The single biggest thing that little tiny bird is ever going to have to do is to hop up to the edge of its nest, flap its wings a few times, and take a leap of faith, knowing that it’s leaving all safety and comfort behind.
But every bird does it! Not because they want to, but because they have to!
So, similarly, I think the single biggest thing that every person out there needs to do is to walk outside and leave their metaphorical comfort zones behind.
Forget about safety and comfort. You’re a hero, and you’re going on an adventure called life.
If Bilbo Baggins never left the Shire, he never would have saved the world from the grips of Sauron… But doing so was all part of our beloved Bilbo working towards following his dreams of chasing adventure!
